Description

1963 Jaguar E Type 3.8 Series I

This Lovely 1963 Jaguar E type 3.8 Roadster is an early Series one with matching numbers, indicating that it retains its original engine and is finished in original Carmen Red with black leather interior. When manufactured it was in left hand drive form and shipped to the USA.  It was then repatriated by its only UK owner in 1993 and converted to right hand drive some 30 years ago. More recently in September 2022 the car has undergone a complete engine rebuild by Classic and Modern Engine Services of Bracknell  with a carburettor overhall by Burlen systems, and the original Moss gearbox was rebuilt at the same time by Hardy Engineering in Leatherhead. Sitting proudly on excellent chrome wire wheels, this beautiful E-Type 3.8 Roadster also benefits from having a new Mohair hood with refurbished hood frames and near perfect interior. Whilst the engine and box were away being rebuilt, a considerable amount of time was spent improving the condition of the engine bay which included repainting of the front frames,, new front shock absorbers, re-enameled exhaust manifolds, a new electric cooling fan and a new battery. We also took considerable care in repolishing the centre alluminium instrument binical and the centre console.  This Jaguar now has a new MOT certificate with no advisories and drives with no known faults. It is supplied with a V5C registration document, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and invoices dating back to the 1980s. This is a perfectly useable example of one of the finest cars ever to leave Browns Lane. Not expensive at £115,000
