Description

1968 Aston Martin DB6

1968 Aston Martin DB6 finished in Dubonnet Rosso with beautiful cream hide interior with best quality beige Wilton carpet edged in cream leather. This fabulous example has been in the same ownership since 1979 and has been kept in a heated garage for the past 40 years. Unlike most Astons of this era, this car has never needed a complete nut and bolt restoration but maintenance throughout this period has been undertaken without regard to cost. In 1985, the car was the subject of a back to metal repaint with photographic evidence and at this point it was also completely re-trimmed and both bodywork and interior remain in superb condition to this day. The most recent cosmetic improvement is a completely refurbished steering wheel giving a lovely feel to the power assisted steering when driving this motor car. In 2008, an unleaded conversion was carried out by R.S.Williams with further works by HWM Aston Martin totalling over £12,000. Additional recent works have included a brake overhaul in 2012, a new stainless steel exhaust in 2014 and a full carburettor rebuild in 2016, as well as regular annual servicing all recorded in the car’s detailed history file. Also forming part of the file is a factory build sheet with  28 MOT certificates showing the progression of mileage from 43,101 in April 1986 through to 55,278 miles in March 2018; the current speedometer reading being 55,762, hence in the past 34 years the car has covered a mere 12,681 miles. To say that this car has been well maintained is something of an understatement and the quality of maintenance is immediately apparent when driving this car. We are privileged to be offering a DB6 in such beautiful condition at what we consider to be a very realistic price
