2008 Chevron B8 FIA RACE CAR
2008 Built Chevron B8 continuation model built by Chevron Racing Cars Ltd with input from Kelvin Jones Motorsport and is chassis number one of the continuation cars. The construction of the spaceframe was trusted to Arch Motors of Huntingdon and built to exactly the same specification as the 60’s built original cars and to FIA HTP specification. The sills and footwells are clad with 20 swg sheet steel and the floors are panelled in aluminium. All joints are bronze welded as the originals and the front suspension and pedals were also fabricated by Arch Motors. Front and rear uprights are in cast magnesium alloy and brakes are solid discs with Girling AR 3 callipers. The car is fitted with a correct Lester Owen BMW motor built to the latest specification and is fitted a high efficiency alloy radiator with built in oil coolers. The gearbox is a Hewland FT200 by PDS racing using an original type casting. Owned and successfully raced by Alec Hammond for the past 10 years with some excellent race results in the hands of Alec and Co-driver |Nigel Greensall. It is eligable to race with the HSCC and the Masters series with numerous high profile events throughout the year. It has been expertly maintained by Richard Walbyoff of R W Racing near Silverstone who would willingly continue to maintain the car for a new owner.
