Description

1964 Alvis TE21

1964 Alvis TE 21, chassis number 27078, finished in Deep Ocean Blue with contrasting sumptuous burgundy hide interior. This lovely and very usable example has had only 3 owners in the last 44 years, all of whom have lavished considerable sums of money in general maintenance, upgrades and improvements. Whilst this motor car is by no means in concours condition, the paintwork is very acceptable and the interior trim, much of which was largely replaced about 16 years ago remains in very nice condition. From a mechanical point of view, within the last 15,000 miles, the clutch has been replaced, the cylinder head has been converted to run on unleaded fuel, the suspension has been upgraded with a Harvey Bailey Handling kit and 4 new shock absorbers, giving a firmer ride and improved road holding and new wire wheels have also been fitted.

The specification includes a 5 speed ZF manual gearbox as fitted to the Aston Martin DB5 making the car higher geared than the automatic versions and much better for long distance cruising.

Within the history that accompanies the car is an original green log book together with previous registration documents, a large number of invoices detailing the expenditure and various expired MOT certificates. All in all we would describe this as an above average example that has been very well maintained and is expected to give many years of pleasurable motoring for a new owner. Offered for sale at what we consider to be a realistic and attractive price of £26,950
