1969 Jaguar E Type 4.2 Roadster

1969 Jaguar E type 4.2 Series II Roadster finished in Carmen Red with biscuit hide interior and sitting on excellent chrome wire wheels. This stunning example was the subject of an in-depth restoration by M&C Wilkinson back in 2010-2011 with all of the relating invoices with the car which go into great detail of exactly what was done. The restoration included a complete preparation and repainting of the body shell, refurbishing and fine tuning of the 4.2 litre engine which is an exceptionally quiet unit and holds excellent oil pressure. All of the suspension was overhauled and upgraded as well including new hubs and wheel bearings and the fitting of a Getrag 5 speed gearbox for quieter motorway cruising. The car was subsequently looked after by Wilkinson's until it changed ownership into the hands of a gentleman based in London and during his 7 year of ownership it has been diligently serviced and improved by Steve Berry of Southern Classics based in Twickenham. With the car is a well kept history file, describing in detail all of the work that has been done, together with previous registration documents and numerous expired Mot certificates showing a progression of mileage.  With Series One E type roadsters now changing hands for sums in excess of £150,000 and more, our Series II is a very attractive buy, taking into account its extremely good condition and the excellent manner in which it drives. As 2021 will be the 60th  anniversary of the launch of the first E type, the new owner of this beautiful E type Roadster will be welcome at the numerous events being planned in celebration. Very reasonably priced at £79,950
