1977 Daimler Soveriegn 4.2 Two Door Coupe

1977 Daimler Sovereign 4.2, two Door Coupe finished in Squadron blue with contrasting Biscuit hide interior. This is an exceptionally well preserved example of this ever popular model made in both Daimler and Jaguar guises. We have good reason to believe that the 37,000 recorded mileage could well be genuine although more research is required before we can be certain. Squadron blue was one of the most popular colours in period and the condition of the paint finish is at least 8 out of 10. The interior is in really good order including excellent leather, headlining and carpets rounded off by a non-standard high quality wood rimmed steering wheel which compliments the interior very nicely. The original steering wheel also comes with the car. Apart from the delightful appearance of this classic Daimler Sovereign the real pleasure comes on driving the car. I was fortunate enough to drive it home for a distance of about 50 miles and I consider that it is faultless to drive. The engine is quiet with plenty of power and holds a constant 40 PSI oil pressure. There was no signs of overheating, the electric windows all work perfectly and the power steering which was always very light on this period of Jaguar and Daimler is also working perfectly. The previous owner but one kept this car for 17 years and the owner before him for 20 years, back to when this car was only 7 years old. Within the considerable history file there a large number of invoices for maintenance and improvements together with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming that this is a “matching numbers” Motor Car still in the exact specification in which it left the factory. Hence, a very well-kept example, sensibly priced at £23,950
